Accessibility
Accessibility is important; this site is made using the open source platform WordPress. Out of box it is very accessible, in web design many times it is what you “don’t do” not what “you do”. The site almost passes compliance standards and frankly that is not enough, I am still working on it.
These plugins were added because they added instead of detracted from the site and accessibility.
- External Links – This is just good web design, someone deserves to know if the link they are clicking is internal or external
- Remove Title Attributes – You know those nifty text pop ups when you leave your pointer over a link? Well, those play havoc on people who use screen readers. WordPress out of the box adds Title attributes to lots and lots of links. This plugin will remove most of them
- Font Controller – Look down at the bottom of the page, you see that nifty plus/minus icon, that is used to increase or decrease the size of the text on the site. It is a fantastic plugin and very useful for many users.
This is a wonderful site with all kinds of information regarding Accessibility issues and and web design.

I know a little about web design, enough to be dangerous but can always use some help. If you know of anything on the site that not up to standard and know how to fix it (especially these last few XHTML errors) please use the contact page to let me know. I will continually try to make this site more handicap accessible, even though I am quite stupid.
Thank You,
Kenton Bell
